The boAt Airdopes 163 true wireless earbuds use a 13 mm dynamic driver in each bud, tuned for boAt Immersive Sound with a punchy low end across a 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. ENx environmental noise cancellation works on the built-in mic to keep your voice clear on calls, and silicone ear tips (two spare pairs in the box) help you get a snug fit.

Insta Wake 'n' Pair switches the earbuds on and connects them to your last paired phone as soon as you open the case, over Bluetooth 5.1 with a range of up to 10 metres. A touch control on each earbud handles play and pause, track skips, calls and Google Assistant or Siri, and either earbud can be used on its own.

boAt rates each charge at up to 6 hours of music at 60% volume and up to 17 hours in total with the 300 mAh case. When the battery runs low, ASAP Charge gives about 180 minutes of playback from a 10-minute charge over USB Type-C.

There is no active noise cancelling for music, as ENx only works on calls, and volume is set from the phone. IPX5 covers sweat and water splashes, not swimming. A USB Type-C cable is in the box, but no power adapter.

Charge the earbuds and case fully before first use with the USB Type-C cable from the box; any 5V/2A USB adapter works, and boAt does not include one. Open the case lid with the earbuds inside and they switch on and go into pairing mode (red and white LED flashes); if they don't, touch and hold both earbuds for 8 seconds. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone, pick 'Airdopes 163' in the list and pair; pairing mode lasts 3 minutes. After that they reconnect when you open the case. Single tap either earbud to play, pause or answer a call, double tap to end or reject a call, double tap the right earbud for the next track and the left for the previous one, and hold either earbud for 3 seconds for Google Assistant or Siri. Set the volume from your phone. To reset, forget 'Airdopes 163' on your phone, hold both earbuds for 5 seconds outside the case to switch them off, put them in the case, close the lid for 5 seconds, then take them out and pair again.
