The boAt Airdopes 148 Gen 2 true wireless earbuds put a 10 mm dynamic driver in each bud, with two EQ modes: boAt Signature Sound for more bass and Balanced for a flatter sound. Each earbud has two microphones, and boAt's ENx environmental noise cancellation works on all four to keep your voice clear on calls.

BEAST Mode cuts the audio delay to about 65 ms for mobile games and video, and Bluetooth 5.4 holds the connection up to 10 metres away. With IWP, earbuds you have paired before reconnect to your phone as soon as the case opens, and a long touch on the left earbud calls up Google Assistant or Siri.

boAt rates total playback at up to 48 hours with the 450 mAh case, which charges over USB Type-C. When the battery runs low, 10 minutes of ASAP Charge gives up to 180 minutes of music.

There is no active noise cancelling for music, as ENx only works on calls, and volume is set from the phone. IPX4 covers sweat and splashes, not swimming or showering. A USB Type-C cable and two extra pairs of ear tips are in the box, but no power adapter.

Charge the earbuds and case fully before first use with the USB Type-C cable from the box; boAt recommends a 5V/2A USB adapter, which is not included. Open the lid with the earbuds inside and they switch on by themselves (or long touch both earbuds for 3 seconds), then pick "Airdopes 148 Gen 2" in your phone's Bluetooth list; if a passcode is asked for, enter 0000. Next time, the earbuds reconnect as soon as you open the case. Single tap either earbud to play, pause or answer a call, double tap to end or reject a call, and double tap the right or left earbud for the next or previous track. Long touch the left earbud for 3 seconds for Google Assistant or Siri. Set the volume from your phone. To power off, put the earbuds back in the case and close the lid, or long touch each earbud for 5 seconds. To reset, forget "Airdopes 148 Gen 2" on your phone, put the earbuds in the case with the lid open and press the reset button on the case for 5 seconds until the case lights blink 5 times and the earbuds blink red 5 times, then close the lid, wait 5 seconds and pair again.
