MacBook Neo is Apple's lower-priced MacBook, built on the A18 Pro chip that first appeared in iPhone 16 Pro. Its 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU with hardware ray tracing and 16-core Neural Engine handle study, office work, browsing and photo editing, and run Apple Intelligence. This Citrus unit has 8GB of unified memory and a 256GB SSD, Apple part MHFD4HN/A.
The 13-inch Liquid Retina display has a 2408 x 1506 resolution and 500 nits of brightness. Above it sits a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and two side-firing speakers support Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. The recycled aluminium body weighs 1.23 kg and comes with a colour-matched keyboard. This model's Magic Keyboard has no Touch ID; Apple fits Touch ID only to the 512GB model. Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6 and iPhone features such as AirDrop, Handoff and iPhone Mirroring are built in.
Ports are limited: one USB 3 port (10Gb/s, DisplayPort), one USB 2 port and a headphone jack, with support for one external display up to 4K at 60Hz. Memory is fixed at 8GB and cannot be upgraded later, so buyers who edit large video projects should look at MacBook Air.
Connect the 20W USB-C Power Adapter and USB-C Charge Cable from the box to either USB-C port, then open the lid to start the Mac. Setup Assistant takes you through language, Wi-Fi and your Apple Account. To bring files across, use your iPhone and iCloud, or Migration Assistant from another Mac or a Windows PC.
MacBook Neo, 20W USB-C Power Adapter and USB-C Charge Cable (1.5 m).
