The Apple AirTag (2nd generation) is a 31.9 mm, 11.8 g item tracker that you attach to keys, a bag or luggage and find in the Find My app. Nearby, the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip gives expanded Precision Finding with the distance and direction to walk, and the built-in speaker is 50% louder than before, so you can hear it from up to twice as far.

Further away, the AirTag sends a secure Bluetooth signal that devices in the Find My network pick up and report, encrypted and anonymous. In Lost Mode you get a notification when it is found, and anyone with an NFC phone can tap it to see your contact details. You can share it with up to five people.

Setup needs an iPhone or iPad on iOS 26.2.1 or iPadOS 26.1 or later and an Apple Account; an Android phone cannot set up or track an AirTag, though it can alert you to one travelling with you. No key ring or holder is included, and the IP67 rating is not permanent and can weaken with wear.

Hold the AirTag close to your unlocked iPhone or iPad (iOS 26.2.1 or iPadOS 26.1 or later) and tap Connect on the card that appears. Give it a name or emoji and it is added to your Apple Account. Attach it to your keys or bag and find it in the Items tab of the Find My app. A holder or key ring is sold separately.
