Apple AirPods 4 Wireless Earbuds

The Apple AirPods 4 are open-fit wireless earbuds built around the Apple H2 headphone chip. A custom high-excursion driver and high dynamic range amplifier drive the sound, Adaptive EQ tunes it to the fit in your ear, and Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking places music and films around you.

A force sensor on each stem handles playback and calls: press once to play or answer, twice to skip, three times to go back, and press and hold for Siri. Voice Isolation uses the beamforming microphones to cut background noise on calls, and Siri Interactions let you nod or shake your head to answer. With an iPhone they pair in one tap and switch between your Apple devices.

Apple rates up to 5 hours of listening per charge and up to 30 hours with the charging case, and five minutes in the case gives about an hour. The case charges over USB-C only. This model has no Active Noise Cancellation and no wireless charging, the earbuds and case are rated IP54, and no USB-C cable comes in the box.

Charge the case with a USB-C cable and power adapter (neither is in the box). To pair with an iPhone, turn on Bluetooth, open the case next to the unlocked iPhone and tap Connect when the setup card appears; they then work with your other Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account. On an Android phone or Windows laptop, open the case with both earbuds inside, double-tap the front of the case until the status light flashes white, then choose AirPods in that device's Bluetooth settings.
